Homebirth Support at Tree of Life
Lori began her midwifery journey nearly two decades ago, supporting homebirth clients throughout Virginia. Before founding Tree of Life in 2017, she operated a dedicated homebirth practice in Northern Virginia—and she continues to offer this deeply personal option to families who feel most comfortable welcoming their baby at home.
At Tree of Life, we hold a deep reverence for homebirth. When appropriate, we strive to support clients who choose this path, recognizing that the home can be a sacred and empowering space for birth.
For those considering a homebirth, we provide a list of important considerations to review. These are not automatic qualifiers or disqualifiers, but rather starting points for a thoughtful conversation with your midwives. If you’re hoping to birth at home, we encourage you to connect with us early in your care to explore whether it’s the right fit for you and your baby.

BridgeCare
To better serve our growing community of returning clients and families planning home births, we have introduced our new BridgeCare Model. This model combines the comfort of in-home prenatal and postpartum visits, including the option for a home birth, with the convenience and resources of our standard care—such as in-office lab work and educational classes.
Clients opting for the BridgeCare Model will be required to attend at least three (3) appointments at our birth center. The remaining care will be provided through a blend of in-home visits and telehealth appointments.
Please note that this model is available only to clients who meet our established home birth eligibility criteria and will be offered at a separate price point to reflect additional mileage and travel considerations.
